Members don't need to be skilled woodworkers to join our Club. Skills are acquired through training and hands-on work. Members help one another, Ray (left) is watching Neil use the Hammer bandsaw. We help one another to gain skills in equipment after being inducted in the safe use of that equipment.
The Club has a well equipped workshop, with all of our equipment being well maintained. We have a program to maintain our equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The above photo shows one of our member using the Laguna bandsaw.
Most of the timber that our members use is donated to us.
The photo above shows a small part of our timber storage.
The Club has a very strong focus on safe woodworking. We do this by having a thorough equipment induction program, as well lots of self-help. In addition, in 2022 the Club adopted a process to strengthen our safety focus.
The last Thursday of the month (usually) the members who attend the workshop work on making toys. The toys are usually donated to one of the charities that we support. Members can choose what toys they work on.
